My painting practice generally develops through a series of works which explore a variety of avenues around a specific theme.
A current theme is that of Gardens as a timeless human construct and a place of human presence, activity and contemplation.
The present work on show, however, is a series of assemblages/constructions which are a response to Emma Purshouse’s poem 'That Day'. This has given me the exciting opportunity to explore the theme of detachment and the emergence from the constraints which this can impose.
