Elements

Winds blew and
the hurricanoes
cracked their cheeks

the night you drove into town.

There may have been lightning
at any rate
my clothes were shredded &
I was
slightly singed about the
extremities
as I discovered
when I awoke
next morning
in an unfamiliar room.

Fluids were exchanged.

It soon became apparent
we had made mud

the rich alluvium
where seedlings slide

and root themselves,
the progeny of time.
