Welcome

Welcome to the website for 'Image Text Image'. Based in Wolverhampton, England, we are a group of artists and poets who collaborate, or work in parallel with each other to produce contemporary art and poetry that we are passionate about.

History

In 2004, artist/printmaker Linda Nevill and performance poet Emma Purshouse collaborated successfully to produce a poem and an image on the theme of a Black Country farewell, entitled 'Tarra a Bit' (pictured right). It was a phrase that had fascinated Linda since she first heard Emma say 'goodbye' in what was, at first, an incomprehensible Black Country way. As a result, they decided to form a group of artists and poets to work together.

Image Text Image members have now been collaborating since 2003. In our most recent exhibition, as always, the work on display examins the relationship between text and image but also seeks to explore geological  themes.
